Imagine the Group of Your Dreams

Flourishing groups work on their big questions. They don't postpone them in hopes they will answer themselves or someone at a "higher pay grade" will answer them. They know they have to take ownership of the questions that will give them the new results they most want to make possible.

When a group works on their big questions with an expert facilitator, they learn new ways of working together simply by engaging in the process. Expert facilitators make sure the group answers their questions and, in the process, builds more competency and confidence in facilitating work on future big questions.

Here are just five of the possible things they can learn:

  • How to break down even the most complex or wicked questions into their manageable component questions
  • How to listen to each other in ways that allows them to build great ideas together
  • How to leverage constraints and uncertainties as assets in designing answers to their big questions
  • How to make sure they're working solidly from facts rather than assumptions
  • How to make quick progress toward their results
  • The new learning they gain simply from working on big questions with expert facilitators goes beyond the experience, allowing the group to access this learning in future efforts together. It is learning that is as technical as any other kind of technical learning--only distinct from other kinds.

The groups of our dreams are those that have learned how to turn big questions into big results. They learn to believe in themselves and evidence of this belief is their passion for taking on whatever big questions come their way. And each new big question they take on, the greater their virtuous spiral upward into being the team they’ve been waiting for.
